5) “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” by Eckhart Tolle

My personal favorite as far as spiritual writers go is the wonderful Eckhart Tolle. His first book “The Power of Now” was the most important in my journey to mental wellness. After he wrote “The Power of Now” he went silent for over 13 years, then he gave the world another beautiful and profound gift;

“A New Earth”.

If someone asked me what the primary theme of all of Eckhart’s work is I would say it’s this:

We must learn that our real power is found in our true being, and NOT our minds. Once we learn to be fully conscious of what our mind is up to, we are on the way to peace of mind. Our mind judges us, it judges others, it judges everything all the time. Our mind loves to play and dance with our ego and it simply can’t be trusted.

What can be trusted is our true selves found deep within.
